The Alabama Propane Gas Association (APGA) is seeking an Executive Director to assume
leadership of the organization. The APGA Executive Director serves as chief staff member and is
responsible to the APGA Board of Directors to implement, coordinate and manage the mission,
vision and strategic initiatives of the organization.
The candidate should possess proven leadership experience to include member-relations skills,
strong interpersonal and communication skills, meeting planning and logistics, scheduling,
record keeping, and financial management. Also requires a good working knowledge of
Microsoft products including Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, Access or equivalent products,
and the ability to produce documents and publications. Associate or Bachelor degree preferred.
The ideal candidate will:
- Display excellent time-management, multi-tasking and organizational skills
- Be an organized, detail-oriented, self-starter
- Be an energetic team player and eager to tackle new projects and ideas
- Have good writing, editing and proofreading skills
- Exhibit sound judgment in decision making and conflict resolution
- Display a resourceful, can-do attitude
- Anticipate and address needs of the association
- Manage and organize all committee activities, meetings and conferences
- Represent the propane gas industry at the federal, state and local levels
- Manage all day-to-day tasks of the non-profit organization
The APGA office is located in Prattville, AL with hours of operation being Monday-Thursday
8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Some travel and additional hours may be required. Salary and benefits
commensurate with experience.
